The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, KMUTT is pleased to announce the SEA COAST Crystallographic workshop 2019 (South-East Asian Crystallographic Overview And Systematic Training) to graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and more established young scientists both from academia and industry in South-east Asian region and neighboring countries in Asia. The workshop is jointly organized between KMUTT, Dr.Ronan Keegan from CCP4 (UK), Dr.Garib Murshudov from MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (UK) and Dr.Ruslan Sanishvili from APS (USA). The venue will take place at Science Connect conference room, Faculty of Science, KMUTT during January 21-26, 2019.
The workshop will cover an overview of macromolecular crystallography and all aspects of the structure solution process, such as crystallization, data collection theory, processing, phasing, refinement and validation. Moreover, PDB deposition of the structural data, molecular graphics and bioinformatics will be included in the lecture. Major crystallographic software suites, CCP4, PHENIX, SHELX, and Global Phasing software will be presented along with many individual programs by software developers. Selected attendees will have the opportunity to practice using crystallographic software with the world-class experts. For those, who have unresolved crystallographic data, can bring and work on their research problems with the instructors during the hands-on sessions as well.
**On-line application is now open and will be closed on November 30, 2018.
The SEA COAST committee will select 30 applicants to participate in the workshop. The selection results will be announced on December 7, 2018.
